Socat usage6/11/2023 ![]() ![]() In principle it will work if you use the same port but a different IP. I’ve googled it intensively until I found out a general solution. The problem is, that when I disconnect the client (by switching it off), the tcp connection is still established. Unfortunately, asking socat to do so will release an error like this: YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS socatĮ bind(5,, 16): If we stop or destroy our docker, we will need to establish the streams again for the new container. Don’t get crazy yet and allow me to explain! We previously opened a stream between the OSX and the docker like this: socat TCP-LISTEN:6000,reuseaddr,fork UNIX-CLIENT:\"$DISPLAY\" It looks like, at least on OSX currently, it establishes it but does not close the stream if one of the streams is not responding. ![]() It establishes two bidirectional byte streams and transfers data between them. The debian documentation above says it all ( here the Ubuntu documentation). Socat is a Multipurpose relay (SOcket CAT) whatever it means. Previously we found a trick to get a running GUI from a docker on Catalina.
